The first part of July was brutally hot-which made Kerry especially crabby that we weren't up north for one of the first times over the 4th of July holiday. High lights of the first two weeks included a day trip to Wisconsin Rapids for some swim time in the Ironside's pool. Isaac was hard at work making 2 new raised beds out of some black locust wood he purchased across the state. The kids enjoyed playing in the dirt and joining in on the project (of course he was thrilled that it was 100 degrees out while performing manual labor). Our raspberry crop this year was epic and now we have gallons frozen as well as we couldn't keep up with the bounty. Our best pandemic purchase was likely our inflatable pool. Kerry bought the pool back in April thinking it might be handy. The pools were soon sold out and we heard a story of someone driving across the state and paying several hundred dollars to get their kids a similar pool!

COVID Pandemic- First 1/2 of July
Pool party at Ironside's lovely in ground pool! Lucy is starting to figure out swimming without her floatie and Charlie is finally willing to float around a bit.
One sweaty kid working with his excavator birthday present in the new garden bed.
This was super cute in the moment...but these two never took a proper quiet time and it was a wild afternoon.
Lucy requested a hike to "Tippy Top Mountain". It sure looks different in the midst of summer compared to our last time here in April!!!
We used to do weekly meals with Grandpa Pischke at his house. This was one of our first meals back with him. We staged it outside (mostly in the garage as it was a rainy day). The kids were thrilled to eat corn and mashed potatoes again :)
Lucy is learning some new gymnastics tricks.
Mema came over to check out our pool and cool off.
Lucy is helping out with raspberry picking.
Lucy hard at work on taking measurements and making construction plans.
If you ask Lucy what she wants to be when she grows up, construction worker is now one of her answers.
Yet another day cooling off in the pool. Charlie always manages to sneak a bunch of trucks full of mud into the pool when we aren't looking.
